Whew, so I finally got my blog going just in time for the Pinterest Challenge: Fall Edition! In case you’re unfamiliar, the Pinterest Challange was created by Katie from Bower Power and Sherry from Young House Love to help get everyone off their butts and working on pinned things (FYI: This challenge is in no way sponsored by Pinterest, just hosted by a few awesome blogs).

So, for the Fall Edition, I decided to work towards some extremely early winter/Christmas cheer (along with half the challengers, I’m sure!) and settled on these pins:

Found via Pinterest; originally from here, here, and here.

I'm definitely starting out small considering I had zero time this week, but I actually do love how it turned out. I took inspiration from the above pins and an asymmetrical twig wreath my mom has that I love and hit up Michael's for supplies.

I picked up a large twig wreath, two packages of different sized Styrofoam balls, a few different types/colors of yarn in a neutral/wintery palette, a small bag of scented pine cones and a box of silver bells. All in all, the project ran me about $25 (but I have tons of yarn, balls, cones and bells left over for future projects).

From there it was as simple as wrapping the yarn around the Styrofoam to create yarn balls (without wasting as much yarn as 'true' yarn balls) and attaching them to the wreath with silver wire I had around the house. I also used simple raffia ribbon looped and knotted on the back to create a hanger. (p.s.) Ignore the stencils in the pictures, they are for a project I haven't gotten to yet! Will post when I finish it.

Please excuse the bad lighting and pic quality in the process pictures (I was crafting last night at midnight while the boys were asleep, so the pics are quite awful!).
